Mission

At Study Point we're dedicated to providing students with proactive learning solutions and techniques that will stay with them, not just through testing but through their entire academic careers.

 

We believe in nurturing each student, providing not just academic support but moral support and encouragement throughout the process. Let’s work together toward your next big achievement.

Vision

A positive classroom environment allows the students to feel comfortable in sharing their thoughts, taking risks, asking questions and confronting challenges in their learning. With today's ever increasing class sizes it's not always possible for the classroom teacher to engage with his or her students for sustained periods of time. Ninety minutes, thirty students, that's an average of 3 minutes per student at best. This is what makes StudyPoint tuition different. We see the significant value in small group learning and 1-1 tuition.

At Study Point we don't prioritise money over behaviour. Any student who is found to be disruptive or is not invested in their own learning will be asked to leave and encouraged to find tuition elsewhere. It's important to realise that tuition is not a replacement for the school classroom, it's there to help support and further the students understanding and progression.

Simon Petersen

I began teaching Mathematics at Auckland's Rangitoto College in 1993. Since then I have worked at Kristin School teaching International Baccalaureate and more recently NCEA at Taupo Nui-a-Tia College. At the end of 2022 I choose to leave full time teaching and focus on providing quality tuition. I am a fully qualified teacher with up to date teaching experience and curriculum knowledge. In 2023 I provided relief services to TNT College.

Twenty+ years spent in the classroom has helped equip me with the necessary skills to understand changing student needs and curriculum.
